So I'm finally allowed to announce that my sister Jess got engaged on Friday. I flew in to Nashville last night to surprise her, and we've had the whole weekend for wedding planning and fun girly time. It's been a long time coming, and Jonathan did a wonderful job. He told me ahead of time so I could be here to celebrate with her. She was totally surprised and her ring is GORGEOUS! We've had a great weekend and I'm sad to leave my sweet family. If only I could just stay and plan her wedding for her. Stay tuned for lots of wedding updates in the future!!!

Strawberries and Showers!!!
Well, strawberries might be my favorite fruit ever. So I decided to try and grow them this year and now I'm already seeing the fruits of my labor, literally:) So far I've picked at least 2 dozen sweet little strawberries! Here are the first of the season...

Yum yum

Here's one of the pretty heirloom roses in the backyard

We're finished with the patio, where we've been spending so much time recently. And here's the cute planter I got from Brandon's cousin...

This weekend was Bobbi's baby shower. She and Susan are the first of our friends in class to start having kids, so we've all had fun talking about the arrival of baby Jaxon. Here's our group of friends on Saturday...

So blessed to have these sweet girls in my life

Jaime's Shower
Saturday Kristi and I put on a little baby shower/cookout for Brandon's cousin, Jaime. We had fun spending some time with Brandon's family for a little while. It was a gorgeous day, so we played outside and enjoyed watching Jaime open lots of cute things for Lily Kate. Here's just a few pictures I took...

Big Day
So today was somewhat of a big day for me. I found out that I am now fully certified as a Speech Pathologist, so I get to put CCC/SLP after my name! Since I started working, I've been considered an intern and had to sign CF for Clinical Fellowship instead of CCC for Certificate of Clinical Competence. Though the responsibilities aren't all that different, I've now completed the allotted time and am finally done with everything!!! All the paperwork has gone through and I'm officially all grown up.

Woo hoooo!!!

Lord, give me a green thumb
This weekend we got to spend some time outside finishing our little garden. Brandon built me a great planter box for planting veggies, and it's finally warm enough!
So here's what it looks like now...

From left to right: Camellia, cilantro, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant, tomatoes, and a few green beans on the end.

Tomatoes- hopefully they'll do as well for me as they do for my PopPop!

Our friend Josh gave me this idea for how to hang our strawberries, and I must say they look pretty good so far. Now, let's just hope hope they grow!
We've both been pretty excited about all our new plants and our little veggie garden, so hopefully it'll be something we don't totally ruin. We're hoping to end up with some yummy fresh veggies!

Our Easter
Well, the Easter Bunny survived another year of not being caught by my Bailey-girl. I can't say it wasn't close, though. I've been kinda sad this year about not being with our families on Easter, so Brandon tried to make it special for me anyways. It was good being at our church and hearing Gordon preach on Easter. I always love the ways he interprets scripture- today he compared Jesus to the Undercover Boss. It was great. We decided to cook a big lunch after church. That was all the more exciting because the Easter Bunny brought me the new oven I've been wanting! We actually had a fun day cooking and doing a little spring cleaning, then tonight we grabbed dinner with some friends.

Easter lunch- EGGplant Parmesan, Brandon's all-time fave

Chopped Salad with homemade Balsamic Vinaigrette, definitely a new favorite

Carrot Cake for dessert!! Thanks Memommy for the yummy recipe!
(NOTICE how clean that oven is and that it fits not one, but TWO dishes beside each other!!!)
I'll take pictures of the new oven later in the week when we're done installing the microwave. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
