Easter

Easter is always one of my favorite holidays. I have such fond memories of Easter Egg hunts and dying eggs and dressing up in springtime dresses that perfectly coordinated my sisters:) And the past few years has been very special going to Nashville on Easter. We all make a way to get home so the whole family is together, and it's such a special time. This year was even more fun because we had a toddler to hide Easter eggs from. And she loved it. We ended up going to FOUR different Easter egg hunts- crazy I know. But I loved every minute of it, and so did Miss E. Especially because she got to snuggle her Papa. And because her Aunts spoil her every chance they get. Here's SOME of the pictures from our weekend, brace yourselves...

Ear tubes

Earlier this week Evelyn got the dreaded tubes put in her ears. After what seemed like 15 million ear infections, we finally got those suckers taken care of. I was really glad we decided to go on and do it, because the weekend before surgery, she got yet another infection. Though it was very stressful for me because I didn't like the idea of her being under anesthesia, I knew it was time. We had great support and love from friends, and some of Evie's favorite people came up to sit with us while we waited. And surgery was so much faster than I had expected. We were very impressed with all the nurses and doctors, and I was certain she was in good hands. But she really did not enjoy coming out of anesthesia. She screamed hard for about 15 minutes, drank a bunch of apple juice, and watched Frozen to make her feel better. After that, she took a long nap at home and never looked back! I'm just so thankful for doctors who gave us confidence to do what needed to be done for our daughter, and for the surgeon who took such great care of her. It's amazing how God really provided for us in the way that he provided friends and professionals to comfort us and give us confidence. It's a scary thing to decide that your child needs surgery, but she already feels so much better.

Watching Frozen kept her happy until time for surgery:)

Getting checked out by the doctor.

So excited that Tom and Suzie came to see her.

We are so thankful for trustworthy nurses and doctors who worked hard to be the best at what they do.
And we know God was with them in taking care of our sweet baby girl!
