Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day, Daddio!!!

There are a million things I could say about my dad. He's simply the best. Thanks for showing me what a family should be to each other, teaching me to love the Lord, and for always being there for me. There's no way to say enough. Love you so much!!!

I also want to wish my wonderful father-in-law and my PopPop a very Happy Father's Day. Wish we could be there with you today. And today we also can't help but think about my Gramps and both of Brandon's Papa's. We are so blessed to have had such wonderful men in our lives to love us and show us how to live. Happy Father's Day!!!!!

8. Brandon's softball team didn't QUITE make it to playoffs, despite his amazing outfielding :)

9. It's 127 days till Jessi gets married. WHOA. (Not that anyone's counting)

Day on the Lake

Today we went out to Ray Hubbard to do a little water-skiing. It was the perfect day- hot as blazes but great out on the water. I enjoyed being out on the boat- doing something other than fishing:). My family always spent out summers on the lake when we were in middle and high school, so it was fun getting to do that again. Brandon and I hadn't skiied in years, so it was fun and we both got up pretty quick! Brandon took some time to teach me to drive the boat so I could conquer my fears. Here's a few pictures of our day...

Lighting and Gardening

So I took a few more pictures to post with the most recent house updates. This past weekend, Brandon and his dad installed recessed lights in our living room, and it looks amazing. Then they also installed fans on my back porch, which I LOVE. Today I sat out there after work and read my book under the breeze from the fans. I also took some pictures of our garden today- hopefully my PopPop will be proud:)

Recessed lighting

Yay fans!

Just in time for summer:)

Chris, thanks again for all your help!!!

Austin Minus the Bats

Brandon's parents came in town for the long weekend. They helped with a few of our projects around the house (I'll take pictures soon) and then we headed to Austin Saturday morning to spend a couple days with Brandon's sister and her hubby. We had such a fun weekend, complete with tons of yummy food and lots of play time for the pups. Here are a few pictures I took in Austin...

About to eat at Hula Hut- yum yummm

Waiting for the bats

We waited almost two hours for the bats to fly only to come to the conclusion that the bats have decided to stay at home for now. How disappointing.

Update

Well, Brandon and I have been watching all the season finales of our favorite shows this past week. I've been pretty mad about it because apparently this was the year for every show to end with one of the characters getting killed. Brothers and Sisters, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, LOST, and 24. It's been a pretty emotional week. I'll stop there without going into so much detail that I again lose my calm. Sunday we had a LOST party with Josh and Suzie who we've been watching with all season. Bitter sweet because we were all ready for that wonderful part of our lives to end. I think my problem is that I like romantic comedies and sweet stories where the plot is wrapped up in a pretty little bow. So I don't like the cliff-hangers or even the series finales that don't end well. Here's how it should have gone- the last episode should have been the wedding of Jack Bauer and Renee Walker and then they retire to be together forever and have babies. See, so happy! And I have no IDEA how I would have had LOST end since I've been confused ever since I began watching it. The only good TV thing that happened this week was the start of The Bachelorette, which is sure to be another very dramatic season. There are lots of other things going on, but I don't have time or energy to write about them now. I'll update again soon after our weekend with Brandon's family:)
