Memphis Weekend

This weekend I drove to Memphis for Jessi's very first wedding shower. It was a long drive, but we had a great time. I got to see my sisters, mom, Memommy, and Aunt Marlea. The shower was wonderful and Jess got so much cute stuff for their apartment. We also got to do a little shopping and had a fabulous Italian dinner with mom and Aunt Marlea. Unfortunately the weekend just wasn't long enough!

A wedding, a vacation, and some other random stuff

August has been FLYING by. I still feel like it should be July, but we've been having lots of fun. I have so much to post about, but here are the highlights-

Michael and Melissa's Wedding!

Church girls with the bea (minus a few of course)

Church boys...this is really the only picture of them I could post

FAMILY VACATION
We met my family in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a week relaxing at a house on Lake Desoto. We had a great time playing on the water, watching movies, eating good food, and catching up on some much needed sleep. Here's a few pictures of our week...

I forgot how fun tubing is...well, unless I have to ride alone with Brandon and he feels the need to battle me off the tube

Brandon got pretty good on the slollem ski

Dad on the knee board- he's still got it!

They love when I take pictures of them...they are all inspecting one of the hot springs- those hot springs are actually very hot!

Sisters, looking kinda rough in the 110 degrees (or what felt like it)

On our back porch looking over Lake Desoto

Allie and Blakey

Doing a little wedding planning on my way through Nashville

I got to see my newly pregnant BFF Beth for a short visit while I was home

OTHER RANDOM STUFF
Ever since I got out of school, I have a new-found love for reading. I am obsessed with the book I just read- Hunger Games. I just read it this week on vacation and had to force myself to put it down and hang out with my family;) I really don't want to tell much about the story, because I think everyone should just read it. It's a little weird at the very start, but then it is such a good story. I have to really have a page-turner if I'm really going to read, and this one had me hooked big time. Just thought I'd send out that recommendation...so so good.

When we got back from vacation, our hot water heater had a leak, so this week we've been dealing with getting hot water back in our house. Now that I had about a day to do some laundry, I'm headed to Memphis tomorrow after work for my sister's very first bridal shower!!! I'm pretty excited, despite the 7 1/2 hour drive.

Tonight we had our last softball game. It was not a particularly great game, but we had such a fun season. I almost got killed by a grounder to 2nd base, but somehow survived. It has been so much fun seeing our friends every Thursday night, I'm sad it's over!

Hope everyone has a good weekend, I'm headed off to my beloved Tennessee!

Happy Monday

So Brandon and I had one of those weekends where we never sat down. Friday night we went to a Rocketboys concert (which was amazing) and my car got broken into. Drama. Saturday I had to work and Brandon ran errands. Then I had birthday lunch with Lacey and Melany while Brandon went golfing for Michael's Bachelor Party. He did dinner with the boys while I met up with Brooke and Krystina. Sunday we did church and lunch with friends. Then I got to swim and lay out while Brandon mowed:) Last night we went to the Rangers Game with Chris and Lacey and got to see ole George and Laura Bush. We had a really great weekend, but it was definitely one of those where we never slowed down for an instant. So we really need a couple of days to just relax now that it's Monday. Kinda like our dog...

This is how I find her every day when I get home, sleeping under the fans. She knows she's not supposed to be up on the furniture so she always hops down really quick when she hears me coming. What a life.

Look at that face.

Hope everyone had a Happy Monday!!!

Birds Flyin High

Best Birthday E
VER!!!
Last weekend Jessi came in town as a little birthday surprise. Well, Brandon and Jess had to tell me a few days ahead of time because I'm such a planner that they had to make sure I wouldn't have anything going on already. And I got to take off work on Monday so we had the extra day together. We had the BEST time. I got to show her around Dallas and introduce her to all my sweet friends. We ate lots of good food and got lots of good needed shopping done. Sunday was my birthday, so Brandon invited some friends over to cookout after church. He did so good, cake and all. To top it all off, Brandon got me Michael Buble tickets for Sunday night. So Jess and I had an amazing time. Here are some pictures of our weekend...

Allie, wish you were here!!!

Had to take off the rings for this one:)

Such a fun night!

American Airlines Center- we actually had really good seats:)

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day, Daddio!!!

There are a million things I could say about my dad. He's simply the best. Thanks for showing me what a family should be to each other, teaching me to love the Lord, and for always being there for me. There's no way to say enough. Love you so much!!!

I also want to wish my wonderful father-in-law and my PopPop a very Happy Father's Day. Wish we could be there with you today. And today we also can't help but think about my Gramps and both of Brandon's Papa's. We are so blessed to have had such wonderful men in our lives to love us and show us how to live. Happy Father's Day!!!!!
