Well, it's over.

The Rangers had a pretty bad night tonight. It was a sad day for Dallas fans, but I'm still proud of how far we came this year. Brandon has been no less than obsessed with the Rangers this year. He grew up loving the Rangers and collecting all the baseball cards, but his love for the team has only grown since living in Dallas again these past few years. And this World Series has been like his childhood dream come true. He made a facebook page devoted to Cliff Lee, his new hero. And then he designed a poster for Cliff Lee that he and some buddies took to hand out at the game last night. Even though the Rangers didn't win and Cliff Lee didn't pitch his best game ever, the boys still had fun cheering on their team. They even made it on the news!!!

Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a very Happy Halloween! We've had a bittersweet evening, watching the Rangers lose while greeting the adorable little kids at the door. But the Rangers are still in this thing and it's not over till it's over. The good news is that we had some cute pumpkins on our front porch to greet the trick-or-treaters. Here's a pic...

Happy Birthday Brandon!

Today is my wonderful hubby's birthday. He turns 27 today and it seems so weird to me...such a grown-up. It's so crazy how life just flies by, but I am so blessed to get to go through life with this guy. He's just the best husband in the world and I hope he has the best birthday ever. His one birthday wish would just be for the Rangers to win the World Series. Thus the Rangers shirts we've been wearing all the time in support of our team. Happy birthday my love!

Jessi's Wedding Week

I'm so excited to finally post pictures from Jessi's wedding week. It was so great to be in Nashville with my family for a few days before the wedding. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful sisters, and I am so thankful that God put Jonathan in Jessi's life to be my new brother. I could go on and on about how perfect the wedding was and how much fun we all had, but I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Camping Weekend

This weekend we went to Lake Tawakoni to camp out with a bunch of our friends. We had the best time. The weather was absolutely perfect. Cold enough to bundle up at night, but not the painful-cold that I can't bear. It was really nice. Everyone brought their dogs, so Bailey had an amazing time playing with all the other pups. We cooked some good food and even attempted an apple cobbler in Brandon's new dutch oven. Unfortunately, it did not turn out so well. I don't have any pictures of it because my camera battery died, but maybe that's best because none of you would ever eat my cooking ever again. I didn't get many pics of the weekend, but here are the few that I did get...

Have you heard about the RANGERS!?!?! For anyone who doesn't know, our team is doing really well. The first time to make it this far in Playoffs, so it's been pretty exciting for Dallasites. Brandon has always been such a fan of the Rangers, so he is in Heaven. He literally hasn't missed a second of the big games. Dedication or obsession, I'm not really sure:)

I'm headed to Nashville tomorrow after work to doing a few last minute wedding preparations and have some good sister time before the big day. Only 5 DAYS!!!!

Cowboys vs. Titans

Today our Cowboys played the Titans. My two favorite teams. I used to be completely indifferent about football, but I guess marriage has done something to me. I can now actually enjoy watching a game, and I even half-way understand what's going on.

I am a much bigger fan of the Cowboys than I ever was of the Titans because of Brandon, who is EXTREMELY passionate about the Cowboys. He grew up in Dallas, cheering for "America's team." That might even be his favorite part about being back in this city...other than our wonderful friends of course:) But for me, today was kinda metaphorical.

Dallas vs. Nashville, Romo vs. Young, Texas vs. Tennessee, the Cowboys vs. the Titans. A battle that in so many ways parallels my own life. Silly I know, but I can't help but think about how heart is torn between the two places. Unfortunately, the two cities are so far apart, and that's what makes it so difficult. I think about the times I wished we lived in Nashville so I could be closer to family and my friends there, and then I remember that being in Dallas is so obviously where we're supposed to be right now. God is so good and I don't regret the choice to live in this city for one second, even if we can't win a football game (ugh seriously!??!). God does work for the good, and Brandon and I have seen that in the way that God helped us find a spiritual family in a city that is so far from our physical families.

Today in church, one of the elders taught our class about submitting to God's will for our lives. He talked some about how God's will is sometimes so difficult to see just because of our own selfish desires that get in the way. Who knows what God has in store for Brandon's and my life, but I pray that we don't get too selfish about making decisions that we don't try to follow God's will. All I do know is God will be there with us along the way. And maybe, just maybe, the Cowboys will eventually start winning some football games.

Baby fix

So today was a great Saturday. I have always loved babies and babysitting, and today was the first day in a long time that I got to play and snuggle and change some diapers. I got my baby fix for a little while. I spent the afternoon with Jaxon, John and Bobbi's precious 4 month old. Here's some fun pictures I snapped while having some tummy time. Is he not the cutest?!?

Then tonight I got to snuggle up with baby Landry, our newest little cousin. She's just soo tiny and snuggable! Kristi and I just relaxed and watched the Rangers while our husbands were there at the stadium. Even though the Rangers lost, I think Brandon enjoyed the game. But I'd MUCH rather be there holding this precious girl...

Only 14 days till my little sister gets MARRIED!!! I can't believe Jessi's about to be a married woman! I'm so so excited for her. She's going to be such a beautiful bride. And while I can't show you pictures of THE dress, here are a few of the runners-up...

WOW. But seriously, Jess, we just can't wait to see you shine on your big day!!!

Pumpkin Spice Woo hooo!!

The Pumpkin Spice Latte has arrived, which means it's time for Fall. And so far I'm actually enjoying the cooler weather. I can't remember when I've been so excited for the Fall. But after this excruciatingly hot summer, October has never been more welcome. This weekend we spend most of our time outside in the yard. It has been PERFECT! Here's a few pictures I snapped...

Time for pumpkins!!!

Bailey is LOVING this cooler weather

We did a little landscaping in the back yard

The other side (this is the Crepe Myrtle that is taking over our lives)

Finally I have some pretty roses in my back yard!

BABY LANDRY ARRIVED!!!
By far the best part of our weekend was getting to see Landry. Kristi and Jared (Brandon's cousins) had their second kid on Friday. It's hard not having much family around, but we feel so blessed to have them close enough to see sometimes. I'm so excited about getting to snuggle more with this sweet girl. Here are some of the pictures I took at the hospital this weekend...

Landry Faith- 8 lbs 6 oz, 19 1/2 inches of ADORABLE

I could just snuggle her forever!

Brandon, Jake and Jared watching the Rangers, of course
