Slumber Party
This week we've been keeping our friends' dog Murphy. Bailey is in HEAVEN. They have played and played and played. She hasn't played with another dog like this in a lonnnng time and she is loving every minute. They have gotten along so well and played so hard, but they've also been very relaxed and sleepy by the end of the day (hallelujah). And the best news is that Jon and Erin just moved into our neighborhood about a month ago, so Bailey's new friend lives just a few houses away! Brandon snapped a few pictures tonight for your viewing enjoyment...

Bailey is 3!
Today is Bailey's 3rd birthday. I can hardly believe that she's so old, practically an adult now! Brandon and I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into when we decided to get a puppy, but now we really can't imagine life without her. She's such a sweet girl, and we have so many great memories with our goober. Since she's the only kid I've got, I'm now going to do the mommy thing and put up some pictures to look back on the years with my girl...
Now 2 years old- so grown up, but so much energy!
Two of her favorite things are going on walks and chasing bunnies in the backyard.

3 years old now, our girl has gotten so big!

Back to Camping Again
Last weekend we went to Lake Ray Roberts for our first camping trip of the year with a bunch of friends from church. We had such a good time playing with the dogs and just relaxing outside, not to mention eating lots of yummy food. Brandon and I finally bought a new tent for this trip since our old one was having trouble zipping closed. It was kinda bittersweet, but I think we'll adjust. It was the perfect weekend- good friends, good food, and good weather. I didn't get as many pictures as I meant to, but here's what I did take...

And what would camping be without the dogs...

Nashville Weekend
Nashville Weekend (long overdue)
I FINALLY MET PORTER!!!!!
Last weekend I took off a couple of days to head to Nashville for a long weekend to take care of some much needed quality time. It was so good to spend a few days with Bethy and her precious little boy. He kept smiling and smiling at me- I couldn't get enough of him. It's so crazy that Beth is a mommy. We've really grown up together. All the stages in life- graduation, jobs. marriage, and now she is a parent. She is such a good mom, and it's so fun to see her start this new stage. I'm so proud of you Bethy!!!

Liz's Shower
While I was in Nashville, my sisters and I hosted a shower with my cousins Amy & Stacey for our cousin Liz. She's getting married in July, and we had such a good time celebrating with her. It was a great excuse to have some fun family time.
Me and Jess
All the girls
Shelby keeps growing like CRAZY.
I think she might be part Polar Bear...
Sweet CeCe's with Matt and Ashley- it's becoming a tradition
Miss yall so much!!!

Strawberries and Oranges
It's been a busy couple of weeks and again I am falling behind on my blogging. It feels like we have been so busy every second. But then again, all we've been doing is yard work and hanging out with our wonderful friends. But I guess that isn't such a bad life, eh? The weather has been absolutely perfect up until a few days ago. Now it's pretty chilly. But still, it's my favorite time of year, all the flowers are blooming and the days are getting longer. And I can eat strawberries AND oranges that are still in season. What could be better?!? Our last couple of weeks have consisted of playing with Bailey outside, taking walks, planting flowers, visiting with friends, holding their babies, grilling out, and some busy days at work. My good friend from Nashville, Ashley, came over for a while last week. She was in Dallas helping out her dad, so it was so good to visit with her and her parents. Ashley and her husband Matt are like our older siblings. Very fun and easy to talk to, they've always been there for me and my sisters. So it was great getting to see her for a while. Oh and last weekend I planted my garden! I'll have to post pictures of that soon.
Not much else to update on except that tomorrow I'm headed to Nashville for a long weekend. And who better to pick me up at the airport? BETH and baby PORTER! I am so excited to get to see Porter, and after counting down the days, finally it's here!!! I've been dying to see him since he was born six weeks ago. I'm going to spend every second I can holding that precious little boy. And I'm going to teach him his first word, too. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
Then we're throwing a bridal shower with my cousins for our other cousin Liz. I'm so excited to get to see so much of my family this weekend, and I always love throwing parties:) I am so looking forward to also just having a couple days with my sisters, since they're coming in to host the shower. I can't wait to see everyone! Porter, here I come!!!

Allie Time
So my little sister came to visit this past weekend. We had such a fun time and I am so glad she came all this way to spend time with her big sis. We missed Jessi, but we're planning more sister time very soon. It sucks being so far away from both of them, but it means so much to me when we do get to see each other. Allie and I had such a good time. She got in Friday night and we went to Campisi's for pizza before the Stars Game. We had fun watching the Stars win and get into a lot of fights. Then we found out that Brandon's friend Justin was playing downtown that night. So we grabbed coffee at Cafe Brazil then went to hear The Rocketboys play an acoustic set at City Tavern, which was great. Saturday we slept in and went shopping and then went to eat at The Taco Joint. It is definitely a new favorite- it's in such a shady area but it's sooooo yummy. Saturday night we went to Ft. Worth for the Rodeo. It was the perfect Texas experience for Allie, and we really had fun wearing our boots and exploring the Stockyards. Sunday we went to church and to lunch with friends. I talk about my sisters all the time, so I was excited for some of by friends to get to meet Allie. Sunday we took Bailey to the dog park and then came back to cook a big yummy mexican dinner and watch a movie. It couldn't have been a more perfect weekend. Unless Jess had been here. Here are some pictures from the weekend...

Thanks for coming to visit Allers! We miss you already.

Baby Liam
It's so fun being able to hold and love on all of our friends' babies. And the best part is that we can just hand them back to their parents and go on to our full nights' sleep. It has been really fun seeing so many of our best friends become such wonderful parents. I've been meaning to blog about this precious baby for a few weeks now. Josh and Suzie have the perfect little 2 month old boy. Liam is absolutely adorable, so sweet and cuddly. I watched him for a couple of hours on Saturday, and he was an angel. Brandon snapped a few photos while I was snuggling him. Oh I love this little guy!

House Guests
I haven't updated in a while...oops. I haven't really been taking many pictures, so it makes it hard to blog about much. But we've had a great couple of weeks. My dad came in weekend before last. He taught a class at a church in Ft. Worth, so Brandon and I got to go hear him teach part of his series on Acts. It was so good having him here, even just for a little while. I don't know what it is about having house guests, but I love it. I love cooking and playing hostess and having friends and family in my home. Especially when it's my family. We had a great weekend with Dad, mostly relaxing and eating some good food. He even helped with a little house project. I have been wanting a new Vent-a-Hood for a while now, and I finally got it! Here's a couple of pictures...
BEFORE: AFTER:

Then, Meagan came in town for a few days, so I got to see her for a little while. We cooked dinner like old times and watched the Oscars. We watched all the stars on the runway and quickly got annoyed with Anne Hathaway, the hostess this year. I could go on and on about The Kings Speech. It took home Best Actor (Colin Firth who was amazing), Best Director, Best Screenplay, and most of all, Best Picture. Such a great movie- if you haven't seen it, you need to. Colin Firth is soo talented, and not at all bad to look at either :)
This past weekend we hung out with friends and Brandon got a lot of yard work done. I did some cooking and cleaning and even some babysitting for sweet baby Liam. I'll have to post pictures of that soon...he's adorable. It was a pretty wonderful and relaxing weekend around here!
And now I'm counting down the days till my sister gets here! Allie is coming in on Friday to spend a couple of days with us. I am soooo excited to see her and for her to get to see my home and my town. I'm already planning out every second so we can have lots of fun fun fun. Hurry up and get here Allie!!!

Weekly Top 10
So I haven't blogged in a while. Things have been a little crazy, but life is good. So here are the highlights of what's been going on (in chronological order) over the past two weeks...
10. Dallas was covered in ice. Brandon was off work for like forever and I had to trek to work on the ice. I mean, kids were literally out on the streets in their ice skates. Insanity.

9. Documentaries. Brandon has been obsessed with watching documentaries recently, and I'm actually really enjoying them for the most part.
8. Superbowl Party with our friends. I mostly held friends' babies the whole time which was great to distract from having to actually watch the game.
7. More "inclement weather". Seriously?!?!

6. Parenthood on Tuesday nights never fails to make me cry. If you don't already watch it, you should.
5. BABY PORTER WAS BORN!!! My best friend from Nashville had her 1st baby on Saturday at 3am. I haven't even seen him and I already love him so much! He is so sweet and Beth is already such a good mommy. I could go on and on about this precious little baby and his sweet momma. And I'm counting the days till I get to hold him. Love yall!!!

4. Shower for the Browns and Baby Liam on Saturday at our house. Even with the boys all here, we had a great time showering baby Liam with lots of fun things. Check out the fabulous wreath that Melany made, the super cute cupcakes that Lindsey made, and of course the adorable letter pillows Lacey just "whipped up". Here's a few pics...

3. Valentine's Day- Brandon took me out on a nice date to a place we've been wanting to try. We had a great dinner at Tillman's in Bishop Arts District. It was yuuummmmy.

2. Dad's birthday. Yesterday was my wonderful father's birthday. Always sad I can't be in Nashville on days like that. Happy birthday Daddio!!!
1. Spring is on it's way and I can feel it. The days are getting longer and we're having a good some gorgeous weather in the 70s. Today after work I went running (yes, I said running- believe it) because it was just too pretty not to be outside. Hopefully this weekend will be another pretty one!
