We love our Rangers

Again this season, we are obsessed with the Rangers. I never expected to get like this...but Brandon won't miss a single minute. It's been a pretty good year for the Rangers, and tonight was our 2nd straight shutout! Woo woo!!! Brandon really loooooves the Rangers, and so does his Bailey girl...

I would feel guilty not also mentioning how much the Mavs are killing it this season. It's so fun to watch basketball for once in my life! There has been so much drama on the court and they've really been making for some exciting ballgames. Never in my life did I think I would care at all about basketball, but wooo hoooo GOOOOOOOOOOOO MAVS!!

Hope everyone's having a good Monday!
And if you missed the Bachelorette season premiere, shame on you!

For the love of the boat

Brandon has been working on the side driveway for the past couple of weekends so that the boat has a new and improved place to lay its wheels. Our driveway is in the alley, so he also put up a fence so that you can't see it from the street. He has worked so hard, and I think it looks so good! Here are the pictures!

And now, the boat has a new home :)

Rangers, a shower, and a fence

This past weekend was great. It started out with a Rangers' Game with lots of our friends on Friday night. Gorgeous weather and a great fireworks show, not to mention that we won! Then we worked around the house on Saturday, Brandon putting in the fence by our driveway (pictures coming soon). We went to shower baby Jonah Duke with some boy stuff, since everything he got at the first shower was pink :) Then we got to see Kristi and Jared on Saturday night and play with Colt and Landry. It's been wayyyy too long since we've seen them, so it was fun playing with them. They are both getting so big and Colt is talking sooo much! It's crazy how much a kid changes if you don't see him really frequently. Sunday we had a good day with friends again and worked on the fence. Overall, a pretty good weekend. Now if we could just have a couple days to rest!!! Hope you all had a good weekend!

Allie GRADUATED!!!!!

Today my little sister graduated from college, and I'm so sad I wasn't there to see her get her diploma. From COLLEGE- time just goes by sooo fast and it seems crazy that she is already entering the lovely working world. She got her Business degree in something that I don't really even understand, but I am so impressed by her skills and passion for the business/marketing/sales/managing/financial stuff in life. She's really good at it. And someday we're going to open up our own bakery where she'll manageit, and I'll do speech therapy in the back room... and me and my swallowing patients can be the taste-testers as part of our therapy. Yeahhhh. Anyways, Allie is now off into the real world. She's such a strong, kind, capable, respectful, and independent girl, and I'm confident that she's going to love working and finding new adventures in her life. Maybe Nashville, maybe not. Maybe familiar, maybe not. Maybe totally new and unexpected, maybe not. But what I do know is that Al will be great whatever she does and wherever she goes. And who can blame me for kinda hoping that "wherever" turns out to be Dallas, TX?!?

Allie, I'm so proud of you. You really found something you love and are very good at, and I pray that you will have a very fun and fulfilling life doing what you love to do. Congratulations!!!

RANGERS GAME

Friday night we went to the Rangers Game vs. the Yankees.

The Rangers lost but we still had a good time.

Go Rangers!

BROOKE'S BIRTHDAY

Saturday night we went out for Brooke's birthday at Buca di Beppo. Yummmm

I miss these two, love you Brooke and Briana!!!

MOTHER'S DAY!!!
Brandon and I didn't get to be with our mom's on Mother's Day this year, so we ended up hanging out with our other friends who don't have family in town. But I always get sad because I wish I could be there with them to show them and better tell them how much they mean to me. Brandon and I both have the best moms imaginable, and we have been thinking about them a lot this week, along with my Granny, Memommy, and his Granny and Mema. I've also been thinking about all my wonderful friends who are new mommies this year. It's so crazy seeing our friends turn into such wonderful mothers. Hope all you moms out there had a great day and felt very special. You are such a blessing and we love you!!!

*Also, all day Saturday while I had to work, Brandon was working hard on our side driveway. It's looking pretty good, so I'll have to post pictures from that very soon:)

Mom and Dad came to Texas

My parents came to visit last weekend, and it was sooooo good to have them here. There are 100 things I wanted to do with them while they were here, but it ended up being perfect with just enough time to relax and still get out a lot. After watching lots of the Royal Wedding, Mom and I got some good shopping done. All the while, Dad and Brandon cut down some tree limbs, went to Home Depot like 10 times, and did some other manly things around the house. Then we went to downtown McKinney which is sooo cute I never knew!! We ate some good food and just enjoyed walking around the little shops. Mom and I saw Water For Elephants, which I've been eagerly anticipating and it did not disappoint. Dad and Brandon saw some stupid boy movie that they said was good. They got to meet all our friends from church and now understand why we love them so much. On Monday, I took off work and spent the day with them. I took them to IKEA for their first experience there, and we cooked some good food. All before they had to leave Tuesday morning, which I was pretty bummed about. It was so wonderful to see them.

So glad yall came to visit us!!!! Miss you already!

So glad yall came to visit!!!

(Sorry for the old post- I meant to blog it on Saturday)

Slumber Party

This week we've been keeping our friends' dog Murphy. Bailey is in HEAVEN. They have played and played and played. She hasn't played with another dog like this in a lonnnng time and she is loving every minute. They have gotten along so well and played so hard, but they've also been very relaxed and sleepy by the end of the day (hallelujah). And the best news is that Jon and Erin just moved into our neighborhood about a month ago, so Bailey's new friend lives just a few houses away! Brandon snapped a few pictures tonight for your viewing enjoyment...

As you can see, these are two very happy pups

Bailey is 3!

Today is Bailey's 3rd birthday. I can hardly believe that she's so old, practically an adult now! Brandon and I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into when we decided to get a puppy, but now we really can't imagine life without her. She's such a sweet girl, and we have so many great memories with our goober. Since she's the only kid I've got, I'm now going to do the mommy thing and put up some pictures to look back on the years with my girl...

The first day we brought her home (8 weeks)

Good times on the boat- 9 weeks old

1 year old birthday- what a sweetheart

Now 2 years old- so grown up, but so much energy!
Two of her favorite things are going on walks and chasing bunnies in the backyard.

3 years old now, our girl has gotten so big!

Happy Birthday Bailey!!!!!

Back to Camping Again

Last weekend we went to Lake Ray Roberts for our first camping trip of the year with a bunch of friends from church. We had such a good time playing with the dogs and just relaxing outside, not to mention eating lots of yummy food. Brandon and I finally bought a new tent for this trip since our old one was having trouble zipping closed. It was kinda bittersweet, but I think we'll adjust. It was the perfect weekend- good friends, good food, and good weather. I didn't get as many pictures as I meant to, but here's what I did take...

And what would camping be without the dogs...

Nashville Weekend

 Nashville Weekend (long overdue)

 I FINALLY MET PORTER!!!!!

Last weekend I took off a couple of days to head to Nashville for a long weekend to take care of some much needed quality time. It was so good to spend a few days with Bethy and her precious little boy. He kept smiling and smiling at me- I couldn't get enough of him. It's so crazy that Beth is a mommy. We've really grown up together. All the stages in life- graduation, jobs. marriage, and now she is a parent. She is such a good mom, and it's so fun to see her start this new stage. I'm so proud of you Bethy!!!

Miss you two already!!!

Liz's Shower

While I was in Nashville, my sisters and I hosted a shower with my cousins Amy & Stacey for our cousin Liz. She's getting married in July, and we had such a good time celebrating with her. It was a great excuse to have some fun family time.
With my wonderful Granny
