What a bad day!

Well, another week of firsts-- Evelyn had her first broken bone, first trip to the ER, and first cast this week. It was just a nice morning to take a walk, and we stopped at the park to go down the slide. Her tennis shoe just got caught on the side, and she screamed. She got over it pretty quickly, so I just thought it might be sprained or something. But after a trip to the pediatrician, we went to get Xrays which showed the tiniest little hairline fracture in her tibia. I was devastated. We immediately went to the Emergency Room because apparently that's the only way to get an Ortho consult blah blah blah. After many hours of watching Frozen in the ER, she was splinted and we went home. We were supposed to return to the hospital on Monday for an appointment with Ortho. Well, Thursday morning she got a little better at crawling and she was moving a little more, when I noticed that she was bending her knee in the splint. She had broken the plaster mold on the back of the splint so it was technically no longer "splinted". I called the Orthopedic office and they moved her appointment up so they could check it out. At our appointment that afternoon, they took off the splint and the doctor said she could just wear this little boot for the next 4 weeks! It was an answered prayer, and we were elated. We came home to friends who brought us dinner and so many calls and texts to encourage us. We have the best friends who are here for us and we know have been praying for our girl. We were so scared for our little girl, but again God has taken great care of us and we are thankful that this is just a temporary injury and she'll be back to her normal crazy self in just a few short weeks. Who knows, maybe she'll learn to actually sit and snuggle a little since she can't get around as well:)

Watching FROZEN, works like a charm:)

With her full leg splint- which she will tell you is her "boo boo"
Which also made us turn her carseat forward-facing, which she was very excited about.

Feeling much better about this new boot!

Teaching her babies all about what the doctors do.
